But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

Hoof Trimming

Yesterday Ben came in from doing chores and said that the goats hooves REALLY needed trimming.  So, we headed out.  Now goats aren't like horses where they just stand still while you lift their foot and trim.  At least ours isn't.  So... being the professionals we are... ;) ... we wrestle her on her side and one person holds her down while the other trims.

After struggling to get a four legged, stubborn creature on her side.... it isn't too bad of job... well, Ben's part anyway....  ;D

It can even be a good time to catch a cat nap!  Cat included! :)

It's so nice to have harmony between farm animals.

I found this CUTE Valentine's hair do and tried it on Mae this week.  If you'd like to see how to do it I posted how on my hair blog www.simplycurlydos.blogspot.com .

Ya'll have a great weekend!

First Snow

Well, last weekend we had our first snow this year!  I can't believe we didn't get any til the middle of January!  This winter has been sooooo weird!  One day it will be in the 50's then the next below freezing!  But we did enjoy the snow, we got about 2-3 in., and even got to go sledding one afternoon!
I don't think our other animals really found the snow that thrilling but this was our summer kittens first time to see snow.  Emily seems to be enjoying it...

The other animals where busy trying not to think about it.  ;)

Here's Adalaide, our milk cow.  (Not too fun milking in this cold.)

And here's our two steers.  The brown one is Ronald and the black one is... Guess...

Ben got some pics. at night too and I thought this one looked kinda cool.

And on Sat. we took care of some friends while their parents went out to dinner so I had a tea party for the girls.  What a blessing Christian friends are.

God bless!  Hope ya'll have a great day!  :)

Roller Blading...

Yesterday was a beautiful 60 degrees out, in Jan.!   So we went to one of our local parks and roller bladed for a while.  It was really fun to get out and not be shivering the whole time!  Though we have had a really weird winter so far, one day it's warm and the next it's freezing!

Here is our funny James...

Mom enjoying watching us and enjoying the quiet of nature...

We saw some deer on the way home.  Adric really enjoyed seeing them.

And today the Lord provided us with some more wood for the wood stove. :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hello!!!

Hello all!  Happy New Year!
We are VERY sorry for not being consistent in blog posts!  We had one camera problem after another but Jordan got a new one for Christmas!  So we are going to try to do our best to post more.  ;)  We don't have a lot of exciting things going on but we'll post what we can.
For those of you who have been to our house before Mom built a new addition in our kitchen!  She built an island to have more storage!  Didn't she do a great job?!  (Don't tell anyone but it is made out of pallets!  ;D )  We also painted the rest of the kitchen burgundy!
Well, that's all for now!  Have a great day!  :D

More NH Pics.

Here are some more NH pics....
We got to stay in a cabin off of a lake!  It was AWESOME!  There was a kayak there, a rowboat, and a paddle boat for us kids to enjoy.  The very first morning as soon as we were up we all ran out and explored the lake.  This was our view from our dining room and kitchen window!

After breakfast Brittany, Jenny, and I went for a hike around the lake to see what we could find!

There are mushrooms everywhere in the forests up there!  All shapes, sizes, and colors!

This was a Stingray Corvette that was for sale in a grocery store parking lot and if you know me well you know I had to get a pic.!  ;)

Next we went to a u-pick apple orchard!  Their apples where delicious!

While there we saw this sweet car and license plate and I had to get a pic. next to it!  ;D

It was an awesome adventure with awesome friends.

There's still more pics.!  So keep checking back!

Prayer Request For Our Grandpa...

Hey there!  Could you all please be praying for my Grandpa this week?  He is needing to have his gallbladder removed.  So if you could just pray for a safe and uncomplicated surgery and healing we would really appreciate it.  :)
Mom and James are there with him so if you could pray for Ben, Caleb, & I back home since we'll probably be in charge of the Maze by ourselves that would help too.  ;)
Thanks!

Happy Birthday Benjamin!

Happy Birthday Ben!

Ben is growing to be such a Godly young man.
He keeps his focus on the Lord trying to please Him in all he does.
He is extremely responsible, obedient, and hard working.
He does a wonderful job of honoring Mom and encouraging others.
He has recently taken over a Nursing Home ministry at our church and is doing a wonderful job with that.

A note of interest is that his Birthday is the same date the Atomic Bomb was dropped!
Though he is very charactered he is still one of the biggest 'character's' in our house.  Always trying to keep us all laughing.
(Though he usually doesn't show this silly side to many others outside the family. ;)

Happy Birthday Ben.  We hope you have a wonderful year!

The Maze Is Cut!!!!

Praise the Lord the Corn Maze is cut!!!!  :D
It took two days and a couple break downs but it is finally done!

The way we cut the maze, for those of you who are interested is....
Caleb downloads the picture of the maze we have drawn on graph paper to our Farm Works GPS.
Then he, connected to the battery in our little John Deer lawn mower, slowly walks ahead and shows where the lines, curves, etc... need to go.
Mrs. Mc., who drove the little lawn mower this year, follows close behind and makes a path for me, who is on the big John Deer tractor with a tiller behind, tills the paths.
Below is a pic. of us doing that from the Concession Cabin roof.

We had fun.... most of the time.  It did get a little stressful at times.

Here is a pic. of part of the maze.  Any guesses of what it is?

Now I'm sure you all are wanting to know what the picture is this year aren't you?!

Well.... you all will just have to be patient til we get the aerial photo!  ;)
(Actually, we are anxious to know what we made too!)  :D

Thank you all for you're prayers!

Long Post Update...

Hello all!  Here is a Loooong post update of our life here.  We've been so bad this winter about posting I don't know if anyone really looks very often now!  :P
But for those of you that do here is an update... :)

The baby chicks are getting big...

and here's the big chickens

We got Joanna & Rose, the sheep (the two to the left) sheared early this week.  They were VERY grateful.
And Betty & Wilda, the goats, are growing and are as ornery as ever.

We are REALLY enjoying having cows!!!  It is sooooo much fun milking...

and the milk is GREAT!

The Corn Maze Work season has officially started so we have been VERY busy around here.

Praise the Lord for strawberries!  We are getting an abundance this year...

and the raspberries are coming too.

I FINALLY got the garden in, very late... I'm so embarrassed!
We are trying raised beds.  We didn't get the raised part done but maybe next year.

And this was an unexpected blessing!  (At least that's what Mom and Caleb call it, the rest of us aren't sure what to call it yet.  Maybe a lumber yard?!  ;)   There was a foreclosure or something on a factory near our church and Caleb got these for free!  We are going to use some of them on animal pens down at the Corn Maze and the rest well.... if any of you have some good ideas on what to use pallets for let us know!

Well, that's all for now!  Hope you enjoyed this little peek into the Peck's life!
Pray you all have a wonderful Sunday!
God bless!
